HISTORY

In the nineties, when mountaineers acquired funding for climbing expeditions to the Himalayas and other mountain ranges by doing construction work at height through climbing associations, they realized that this activity was a market niche. VERTIKALA-X d.o.o. was founded in 2001. At the beginning, the company brought together mostly mountaineers with knowledge of and experience in construction, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.

VERTIKALA-X d.o.o. grew fast to become a well-organized company that has performed many major jobs and cooperated with larger investors around Slovenia. Confirmed references by these investors attest to the quality of performance and current organization of the company.

Activities

IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND PROTECTION OF BUILDINGS

Because energy products are increasingly expensive, appropriate building insulation is becoming an ever more important element in new real-estate development, as well as in the renovation of old buildings. By creating a proper thermal protection of a building, we contribute to reducing heating costs and consequently the environment footprint. The current regulation on thermal protection and effective energy use in buildings defines technical requirements that must be fulfilled with regard to thermal protection in order to ensure efficient energy use in buildings. Correct insulation thickness is determined with the help of an energy calculation performed by our permanent professional contractor.

The clients can choose among different types of façades, including EIFS, panel façade or ventilated system and different types of façade insulation, including:

  • Expanded or extruded polystyrene
  • Steam-permeable expanded polystyrene
  • Steam-permeable expanded polystyrene
  • Rock mineral wool in lamellas
  •  Rock mineral wool in plates

We provide a 10-year warranty on the instalment and materials in façade systems, because we use only tested certified materials (ISO 9001) with system-based composition in compliance with the European technical standard ETAG 004 (ETICS – External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems).
We are also licensed contractors for the installation of façades of different manufacturers (JUB, CAPAROL, BAUMIT).
As part of overall projects focused on improving energy efficiency of buildings, we also offer windows replacement, renovation of roofs and attics, and replacement and renovation of mechanical installations. We cooperate with tested and tried subcontractors, with whom we have established long and quality cooperation.

ANTI-CORROSION PROTECTION

Corrosion is a set of chemical and electro-chemical reactions, which causes damage to the material or its complete destruction. Corrosion also encompasses rust on iron and steel buildings. Typically, corrosion damage is not evenly spread over the entire surface of the building, but appears only in certain places. Corrosion that appears in corners and cracks in constructions with very high load-bearing capacities is extremely dangerous. Because corrosion may be the result of several factors, we can determine the real cause for each individual case by careful inspection, then determine the proper technology for the repair.

The company VERTIKALA-X d.o.o. specializes in mounting anticorrosion protection with mobile sandblasting machines, compressors and   airless machines for paint application. We provide complete renovation of anticorrosion protection with different technologies and different materials, depending on the building and its load. The type of anticorrosion protection and installation are defined by the standard SIST EN ISO 12944.

REPAIR AND PROTECTION OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES

Concrete is artificial stone made by hardening a mixture of cement, aggregate and water. Because all main ingredients are inorganic, it was long believed that concrete is indestructible and permanent. Many concrete buildings that show visible signs of corrosion and wear after only 10 years prove that to be wrong. One of the most common causes of damage in reinforced concrete constructions is corrosion of the reinforcement. These corrosion products have larger volume than steel, resulting in lack of space around the reinforcement. The resulting pressure makes the concrete cover separate from internal reinforcement. Such concrete must be repaired immediately, because it starts to decay rapidly once damaged. We repair concrete with different materials and different technologies, depending on the building and its load.

We repair the following types of buildings:

  • reinforced concrete houses or facades
  • reinforced concrete foundations
  • reinforced concrete catchment basins
  • reinforced concrete silos
  • reinforced concrete floorings
  • reinforced concrete construction

In addition to repairs, we also perform static reinforcements with carbon lamellas and carbon meshes, which are used to protect buildings from decay or increase the load capacity of a building.

In addition to using certified materials, the most important thing in every repair of concrete is the preparation of the foundation, which is done by sandblasting surfaces with sandblasting machines or with high-pressure water cleaning of surfaces under a pressure of up to 500 bars.

WORKS AT HEIGHT

Jobs at height are the common denominator of all works described above! We provide repairs and protection, painting and works on the façade works, which are all high-rise jobs. We also perform cleaning of glass surfaces, various installations and dismantling in sites with difficult accessibility, measurements and inspections of buildings and constructions. The term works at height encompasses works are done in a special manner, that is using rope techniques, suspended platforms and lifts. Such approach translates into a much cheaper and quicker solution for the client than using construction façade scaffolding.

We perform works at a height in different ways:
